An inauspicious time?

I watched the lunar eclipse this evening -- it was breathtaking. I tried to take pictures but didn't bother to get out a tripod, so they (predictably) didn't come out very well. Oh, well -- better photographers than me will have some images up on the internet tomorrow.
Today has also been a day when many turds hit numerous fans. A friend departed, another in transition, and THEC has been taken over by crackheads. The waters are churning and I'm feeling unsettled...
