Another roundup

Yesterday, I did a roundup of what local people (check out the timeline CRM-114 added today) were saying about Killer Kat, and the response that followed. Today, I'm going to take a look around at the wider blogosphere to see what people are saying...

Aaron Brown suspects that aliens are involved.

Tulane has cancelled their fall semester. UNO is still working on a plan. SUNO is transferring students to SUBR and SUS. Dillard, SELU and Loyola haven't even gotten their web sites back up.

Where's Dick? Is he sick?

Bush: "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job."

From the AP: "The Iraqi insurgency is in its last throes. The economy is booming. Anybody who leaks a CIA agent's identity will be fired. Add another piece of White House rhetoric that doesn't match the public's view of reality: Help is on the way, Gulf Coast."

"I think it puts into question all of the Homeland Security and Northern Command planning for the last four years, because if we can't respond faster than this to an event we saw coming across the Gulf for days, then why do we think we're prepared to respond to a nuclear or biological attack?" said former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

"And next time, Osama won't give us the advance warning we so graciously got from Katrina."

Today in Iraq visited the battlefield at home this week.

Jesus' General went offline (and totally out of character for a while this week as his site went black.

The United States of Shame ("Who are we if we can't take care of our own?")

"So America, once famous for its can-do attitude, now has a can't-do government that makes excuses instead of doing its job. And while it makes those excuses, Americans are dying."

"Yes those silly folks who pretend they can't afford an SUV to drive out. A lot of these folks had no means to get out, the media clued into that be Wednesday... All the President's men really haven't."

"The Republican agenda is to turn the United States into a third-world shithole. Not by explicit intent, of course, but by neglect, the promotion of incompetence, and short-sightedness. By treating government as a kleptocracy. By governing badly."

"The president made his way back from vacation Wednesday, and Friday he traveled along the Gulf Coast to check in on hurricane damage and relief efforts. We said Friday morning that he probably couldn't expect a hero's welcome. What we didn't anticipate was just how tone-deaf he'd be in making the rounds."

Remembering NOLA...

As always, OneGoodMove and CrooksandLiars have the video feeds.

If We Had A Real President...
