I don't often see a solitary grackle, but this week I caught one foraging under my bird feeders all alone. You can find other birds and critters over on the Modulator's Ark (though the list might be a little slower getting up this week, since Steve et al are "still wandering around Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks").
Happy Friday. Even though it's still a bit hot down here in Tennessee, it is at least starting to look a bit like fall. The trees are just beginning to show some color and we're finally getting some rain this morning. Hopefully the dry spell that's lasted since Hurricane Katrina blew through a few weeks ago will give way to some regular rainfall so that we might enjoy the drama of brilliant autumn colors. In the meantime, it's going to be a busy weekend, as we've got lots of plans for pitching in to help with the many ongoing relief efforts that continue across Chattanooga. Enjoy.
