Those are very good questions. A lot of work needs to be done in terms of both voting machines and candidates. The elections we hold now, with current equipment, do not inspire trust and leave many results looking suspicious at best. The way we conduct elections needs a lot of work. Further, we need to work hard on candidate recruitment, because as easy as it is to say "throw the bastards out!" it's awfully hard to do so if you don't have good alternatives running against the incumbents.

Ah, that is a fine bit of music. That album has much to say about the Corporate mindset and the Sheep needed to feed the machine.
I am hoping one good outcome of the god-awful mess in the Gulf is that we will give a whole pile of pink slips to corrupt politicians next year.
The only concern about it I have is -- will we have any real choices and can we trust our election system anymore?
