Very cool! What struck me, though, was how he got started, by sneaking out at night to plant in empty planters by his own building.
That made me think of the attitudes I'm used to, where the European socio-democratic habit of uniformity and of government permission means little personal responsibility or individual initiative. Sneaking out at night to do what the local government or housing committee won't do, means no one can stop you with the rule book or give you funny looks afterwards.
