Initial reaction: How stupid! Both for anthropomorphizing how a tree "feels", and for "dressing" it.
But I've just read an article (in Norwegian) about how hugging trees can actually stunt their growth (they interpret constant touching as rough winds) and now I'm wondering what putting sweaters on them will do to them.
Heh! So tree hugging is out now? Oh, well... perhaps the knitters who are hard up for projects should stick to the uterus.
Heh. You know what would be really challenging to knit? Ears.
