Corker's Chances Sinking?

News from the Ford/Corker matchup turned up on the Daily Kos yesterday:
TN-Sen: Stu Rothenberg argues that Ford (D) may have the early edge, but that he won't survive the coming Corker (R) onslaught. That was my view until seeing just how deeply the Corker 9-1-1 scandal while mayor of Chatanooga (no one answered a huge number of 9-1-1 calls) seems to be wounding him. And, then there's Corker's corruption case that will go to trial three weeks before the election. Rothernberg gives Corker until early October to turn the poll numbers around before upgrading Ford's chances. This may be a race where late-minute revelations might pull it into our column.
This of course follows a judge's decision to go ahead with Corker's deposition before the election.

It's a double whammy of the truth coming back from the past to haunt Corker. If he'd been as concerned with the environment and the people of this county as he was with his real estate portfolio, he'd now have a much better chance of walking away with this race. As it is, he's backing into a corner and running away from his own record.
