Last week at the CNN/YouTube Republican Debate, the assembled panel of candidates was asked if they believe "every word of The Holy Bible." It's a shame Mitt Romney wasn't asked if he believes every word of the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price, which together with the King James version of the Bible, make up the Mormon church's Standard Works. I would be interested to know if Romney takes all this stuff literally -- if he believes that he (along with maybe Donny Osmond) will eventually become a god. Or, for that matter, if he's a fan of Battlestar Galactica. And also, if he believes this cartoon gets the gist of Mormon history right (maybe I should ask Gramps?):
UPDATE: From my fingers to Mitt's ears! Perhaps he'll answer my questions in his Mormon speech on Thursday.

Oh. My. God (who is not any of the gods mentioned in the cartoon).
I'm flabbergasted.
This makes the Golden Gate cult look sane!
Now I see why people claim the Mormon church is a cult and not a valid form of Christianity.
South Park skewered Mormonism last week. Sometimes SP goes way over the top but after watching this video SP was pretty accurate. If you get a chance check it out. This stuff is so bizarre you can't make it up..but er, somebody did, and then a few million base their entire lives on it, and even one might be President.
