Tim, the blue thingies are part of the wind chime that's made by hanging some glass blobs from a small piece of wood (but I was more intrigued by the way the glass blobs would interact with the morning light in my kitchen window, so it's not actually in a place where the wind blows very often).
Hi there, Alice. You've captured a delicate sense of magic between the light and the drying floral image. This photo absolutely sings...makes me wish we had a little more sunshine around here today. You've certainly inspired me to try a similar theme the next time the light outside cooperates.
Frigga and Kelly -- it's interesting that you might use words like "sad" and "melancholy," as these were some flowers from my mother's memorial service (she's been gone for over a year now, but the family recently got together for the anniversary).
I think the ghosted glassware in the lower left gives the image an ethereal quality -- maybe that contributes to the strange mood.
I also think I really need to wash my windows! ;-)
