When I first saw the photo, I wondered if it was shot from an aircraft or from a very high hill -- but you answered the question above. Happy WW.
That's a great shot; is it the Smoky Mountains?
Not quite, though it's not far from the Smokies. The mountain that runs from the left of the image down to the water is Lookout Mountain and that water you see is the Tennessee River, as it runs through downtown Chattanooga.
Maybe you were flying over elder mountain. It looks similar to a view from the east side of elder to me.
