Spring Explosion!

For all you people out there who are still stuck in winter, don't despair! Spring is right around the corner. Here in Chattanooga, it's solidly here. Below are a few images from around town in the past week. And after the jump, I have some pictures from the yard here at Chez 10K...

G-Dog and I spent a lot of time this weekend working outside -- cleaning things up, mowing, and planting annuals, herbs and veggies. This first photo looks up into a tree, which is putting out some serious buds. The rest is a sampling of the flora scattered about the yard.

Wow! You have your own botanical garden! First spring in the new house, isn't it? Or is time flying like a banana?

Beautiful flowers! Do you think the trees will still be blooming there by the end of May or will summer heat have taken them by then? I'm coming for a short visit then.

Looking beautiful. Love the Forsythia. The Brits make fun of the way I say Forsythia, but their's is rubbish compared to what we can grow south of the Mason-Dixon.

From those of us stuck up here in the gray, wet, cold, brown-grassed, bare-branched, drab northeast...THANKS! So nice to see some color.

(for the record, it HAS been sunny and mild the last 2 days at least...maybe things will start to move toward Spring? Although it is supposed to rain all weekend...ugh.)

June, I think by end of May, it will be pretty summer-like. Spring never lasts very long in Chattanooga. :-(
