I don't think Rush Limbaugh's remarks count at all.
But I'm glad to see him become increasingly associated with mainstream republicanism -- Rush will scare away a lot of people (and the people he doesn't scare are already hard-core republicans anyway). He'll be great at suppressing recruitment to their efforts.
The republican party is still the party of fat, old, white men, and Rush makes a great poster child.
