Better get scribbling, folks!

It's National Novel Writing Month (and National Blog Posting Month!).

And I gotta add a grumble there, for the choice in month... I'd love to try it, but November is always insane around here! Why not a really quiet month, like January?... no holidays, those of us in the northern hemisphere are generally stuck inside with the worst weather of the year, and there's nothing much going on then.

But if you are participating, let me know and I'll follow along!

I'm trying it again, but only in the hope that the structure will get me to write SOMETHING. I have a personal and painful writer's block to overcome right now. I know I won't "win" and make the word count by the deadline, and I never have. November is a terrible time of year for me to be doing this as well. My mother's birthday. Thanksgiving. My last support group meeting of the calendar year. Flu season. Only 30 days to begin with. Christmas preparations. Heck, my car insurance even comes due (and I have to scramble, and had better start now, for a way to at least make the initial payment now that Don has missed 1/2 a month of work and just making rent had me saying a Rosary)...January would be fine. Sigh. Anyway, I'm "calibeep" if anyone needs a writing buddy they can be sure to surpass quickly :)

I'm not sure how to find you on the site... will you be putting what you write up on your blog?

I haven't signed up. I've let my NaNoWriMo registration lapse, but after our last "chat" (in comments elsewhere), I suddenly found something to write about and have several posts in the queue, so I'm going along with the vibes. I wish you two (Beep and Alice) happy daily writing!

And, yes, perhaps January would be a better month, but in one sense, any month is bad for daily writing. :-)

I agree about January. I have had a complete inability to write (besides my work stuff) since I finished my dissertation. It is beyond writer's block. I think I have PTWD (Post Traumatic Writing Disorder).

LOL, Lucy. I remember a few people in grad school getting PTWD before they were actually post-dissertation. (Those would be the ABD folks.)

As it turns out, November has been its usual chaotic self and I've hardly written anything!

Someone needs to compete with Nanowrimo during a quieter month :)

I did manage to post every day in November, but now I'm a bit burned out. And, as you can see, keeping up with the posting made me a bit slow at keeping up with comments!

You did better than I :) I just got sick and barely managed to do Turkey Day and Black Friday commitments :)
