I've been puzzling over this bird for weeks and finally decided it must be my first osprey -- spotted atop a tree in a marshy area along the Tampa Bay. Based on eye color, I'd say it's a young one. Does anyone else have an opinion?
Welcome once again to the weekend! They seem to be coming around faster and faster lately, as these beautiful spring days keep flying by! This week's ark is filling up and the weekend looks to be another beaut! Have fun and be safe!

My opinion is this: Ooh, pretty bird!
And that you are correct in believing this is an osprey - based on the photos in the link you provided. In Norway, osprey is called fish(ing) eagle and is a migratory bird.
AWESOME photo!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!
majestic.
Awesome shot of the Osprey!
Not an osprey, it's a fish hawk. Ok, it's really an osprey, but some folks call them fish hawks. Great shot.
Great shot of the Osprey Alice! It could be a yearling, its eye looks a little orange. Juvie or adult, it surely is beautiful.
Whew. I'm relieved to have gotten it right. On first glance (IRL) I thought, based on the white head, I might be looking at an eagle. But a second look eliminated that possibility and I had to wait until I could get home and check my Sibley guide to figure out what I'd seen!
