So, the alarm started beeping and I called the alarm company and they said the unit's main battery needs to be replaced. I went down to the basement to find the main unit and found a puddle on the floor. Went back upstairs to find the source of the puddle and discovered that the water supply to the refrigerator has a leak. So, now I need to find the shutoff valve for the refrigerator's water supply and then I can return to trying to find the alarm system's main unit.
This day as taken quite the unexpected turn. Which is to say that I may not get a creature up today.
Which reminds me -- I'm thinking of dropping the Friday Creature in favor of Friday Food Porn. Does anyone want to weigh on that issue while I return to the basement?

Yeah, it was a lucky break. A slow leak through wood floors can cause a lot of damage, but ours was caught early. And I didn't find anything back there but some soggy dust bunnies.
With regard to the creatures, I think I'll just post 'em when I got 'em, so yeah, there will still be critters -- just maybe not on Fridays.
In other news, I'm thinking about changing the name of this blog to "10K Monkeys and Alice and Keera." ;-D Ha!
