Thrill Chattanooga

Here's what I was up to yesterday afternoon (as part of Thrill the World). I'm in the back row, next to the fan, in a pink dress. Emmie's right next to me, wearing black pants. You can't see much of either of us until the end, when you can catch a glimpse of us spinning around together after the dance is over (she was waaaaay hopped up on too many espresso shots). The whole thing was an adventure. I'm not the most coordinated person in the world, so learning the dance was a challenge (and as far as you know, I did a fabulous job!). And the costumes were great fun -- I messed up an old bridesmaid's dress and then just turned myself over to Emmie for the makeup. Hopefully I'll have some pics of both of us as zombies to post soon...

UPDATE: here's a great set of photos of the event by Bob!

Michael Jackson

This is hard to believe -- he just died. Wow. I guess that pretty much kills the market for those oxygen chambers that were supposed to make him live forever.

Who is going to be the King of Pop now?

UPDATE: I think maybe this was his most iconic moment. It was an historical piece of television history. I believe it was the first time he performed without his brothers, and it was definitely the first time he moonwalked. I don't think the kids today can really appreciate how much he changed things back in his prime, before the freak show. And then, too, there's Thriller.

G-Dog thinks this was his best vocal performance:

The 70s/80s icons are dropping like flies...

Samuel L. Jackson Reads the Classics

Here's maybe a bit of fun to start out the week. I dreamed this up while I was making dinner Sunday night...

What if the spirit of Samuel L. Jackson inhabited one of the roles in your favorite classic movie?

(Better stop here if you're not comfortable with the f-bomb!)

Michael Jackson can go away now

The trial's over. We don't have to talk about him anymore. The guy sliced off his own face and admits he sleeps with children. He's obviously very sick. If we can't lock him up, we can at least stop encouraging him?
