My wife and I took a great vacation to Florence, Provence and Rome last year. We have a couple of print photos featuring little dogs guarding shops in St Paul de Vence. We loved Tuscany and southern Provence (Rome is awesome, just, you know, exhausting. Siena, and the hill tows north of Nice are much more laid back.)
Euros are expensive, aren't they?
We did just Florence and Rome (though our daughter got to stay on to see Venice and Milan) and while I look forward to returning to the former, I think I've had all I need of the latter. There are things in Rome one just has to go see, but as a city, I didn't find it terribly compelling.
And yeah -- the exchange rate is getting pretty painful (yet another thing for Bush to be proud of!).
