Zach Wamp springs into ... uh... well... that would be more pathetic pandering

What with the utter disaster that is the US war in Iraq, escalating violence in Afghanistan, bin Laden still on the loose, North Korea shooting missles, Israel and Hezbollah going at each other, Bush making an ass of himself at the G8, volcanos, troptical storms (there is no such thing as global warming?), the big pharma giveaway that is the Republican prescription drug program, the administration's extra-legal activities and scandals, the loss of a US city, and so much more recently taking place on this administration's watch, you'd think that Zach Wamp would want to spring into action and do something important.

But you would be wrong.

(Hey, Zach: while you're pretending to concern yourself with history, why are you pandering to the right wing's obsession with the recently added "under God" in the Pledge while disregarding the long-used, but now completely ignored Bellamy Salute?)

I hope the attorneys for the plaintiff quote Mr. Wamp ("It cries out for our country to honor God.") when arguing whether the pledge is an endorsement of a religion or not. Thanks for the Bellamy Salute link, that's hilarious. Now there's some national heritage!
