Beautiful.

These ads (via TN Guerilla Women) take my breath away. They're going up in New York as part of a campaign by the Ali Forney Center in NYC, which provides safe shelter for LGBT youth in the City and seeks to promote awareness of the plight of these young people in the United States.

These are wonderful, thank you for posting them. I encourage all readers of 10,000 Monkeys (which I've discovered only recently, sad to say) to Vote No on 1 -- support the dignity and equality of your fellow Tennessean, not discrimination! Bumper stickers, yard signs, T-shirts, and donation opportunities are available at the given website!

Also, if any Tennessean readers are on Facebook or MySpace, show your support (and encourage others to do so as well) by joining the respective Vote No on 1 group. The Facebook group is at 1475 members and growing, but we need as many people as we can get to spread the word!

Those are highly salutory advertisements, but as a fellow grammar obsessive, I have to wonder about the sentence structure. Shouldn't it read: "Would you still you him if you knew he was gay"? If the phrase begins in the conditional, it has to stay that way. Minor quibble, but such are all of my interests.

You're right. While I was still admiring the stunning photography, the better half was already grumbling and muttering about the use of the subjunctive. One would hope that these advertising and branding outfits have someone available to consult on grammar issues, but apparently we quibblers are an endangered species.
