After a couple of weeks of weather in the mid- to upper-80s, we're finally going back to more spring-like temps, including what will probably be a hard freeze over the weekend. I've already dragged all the potted plants back into the house, but the flowers are just going to have to tough it out. Hopefully my little backyard tree will be ok:

Can you cover it? The ground is probably warm enough to keep it from freezing...
Just a thought.
Hrmmm... I wonder if I could fashion some kind of tent for it...
I hope you have a warm sweater for that shaven puppy of yours.
Oh, I think the little blanket burrower will manage.
ming aralia ?
very nice
Is that what it is? Thanks for the ID!
I'm shocked - it was almost 80 degrees two days ago here in Austin, and the high tomorrow is going to be 47 with thunderstorms. I mean, this is weird! It's clear blue outside, but they say that it's mostly cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms. sigh
Our school was going to have an herbal gardening day tomorrow, and I was so looking forward to getting dirt under my nails. I guess that will just have to wait.
Austin update: 35 degrees with mixed rain, sleet, snow.
sheesh.
Yikes! Someone call Al Gore and tell him to turn on the global warming!
