Bush's Press Conference

Oh, dear. Bush says that the fact that Iran has abandoned their nuclear weapons program is a "warning signal," because they might start it up again.

WHAT!?!?!

So, it doesn't matter what Iran does. They're damned no matter what. (Which, of course, is the point, isn't it?)
The story now is that they're no longer pursuing weapons, but they are pursuing weapons knowledge, which Bush thinks (or wants us to think) is just as scary (by now, we're all quite familiar with how much this administration disdains and fears knowledge).

The press tried to hit Bush on his credibility issues and Bush had no answer for them. How could he? He's lied to us, and everyone knows it. In fact, it would appear that he lied during this very press conference, when he claimed that he wasn't briefed about the NIE until last week, which in itself was an incredibly alarming admission of ignorance -- thank goodness it's not true (link via AmericaBlog):
Hadley said Bush was first told in August or September about intelligence indicating Iran had halted its weapons program, but was advised it would take time to evaluate. Vice President Cheney, Hadley and other top officials were briefed the week before last. Intelligence officials formalized their conclusions on Tuesday and briefed Bush the next day.
And yet, it was after Bush got the news that Iran had halted its weapons program that he made that famous comment about World War III (which was on October 17, 2007).

Bush doesn't care about facts. He wants to fullfil his PNAC dreams of war with Iran and Syria. The only reason he brings up a threat is to try to make another PR campaign like he did with Iraq.

The last 11 months, Bushco has labeled some of the insurgents as Iranians and al-queda in Iraq. He wants to scare Americans into thinking they are the terrorists. This matter worsened when Shrillary and the Bushdogs voted for the Kyl-Lieberman Amendment which turned a State militia into a terrorist organization. Bush doesn't need approval to go after terrorists but he does need congressional approval to go after another country's military. Frightening. I can't believe she voted for this ... well, yes, I can.

Thank you for realizing the keyword in his 10/17 speech: KNOWLEDGE. He knew they were'nt pursuing weapons at that time, so that word was craftily used (if you can believe he can do anything with language craftily). The use of the word was intentional, and basically means that the Iranians should be attacked just because they exist.
