G-Dog commented yesterday that more than any presidential campaign we've ever seen, this one resembles a game of Kill the Carrier -- as soon as a candidate gets front runner status, all the other players go gunning for him/her.
Mike Huckabee has been enjoying also-ran status until recently, so we haven't seen many negative stories about him. But all that has changed in the past week as he's surged to the front of the pack, and now the critics are lining up to take shots at him. Two stories that are hitting him hard this week are that he's ignorant and that he let a rapist go free. Both stories are still playing out, so we have yet to see how Huckabee will look once the dust has settled.
Hillary Clinton has been leading the Democratic pack for so long, she must be quite used to all the pot shots people aim at her. This week, though, her biggest problems have been with her supporters -- from hubby Bill trying to rewrite history, to a (former) county chair playing dirty politics. With friends like these...
