I'm going to take a stab at IDing this plover, but I'll welcome a correction if anyone thinks I didn't get it right. Since its bill is a bit on the long, heavy side, I'm going to go with a Wilson's Plover. Keep in mind that this photo dates back to January, so whatever it is has on its nonbreeding plumage.
Welcome to the holiday weekend, everyone! The ark is up and the weather here is breathtakingly gorgeous! It got up around 80° yesterday and promises to be even warmer today. We've been out running, biking and playing in the yard some already, and look forward to soaking up lots of vitamin D for as long as the sun holds out. I hope the good weather is contagious!
