Dynamic Views

Have any of you blogger folks out there decided how you feel about their new Dynamic Views? I'm considering the switchover but want to know what will happen to other customized parts of my blog, like... oh, say, all that stuff over in that right column...

(For the record, I do think things could use a bit of an update around here.)

Ooh, what fun! Very appealing, but yeah, I'd miss having a unique header on the thing, something that tells you you're on a unique blog. You and I "brand" our blogs with our headers. Also, how well do these new dynamic layouts work with browsers that are not HTML5 savvy?

Must investigate further. Is anyone discussing this? Maybe on Google+?

There's quite a bit of discussion over there! Good thinking! I did a search and found some interesting news. The blogger blog notes that "with respect to customization, we realize that many bloggers have invested lots of time and effort to personalize their blog with custom background, fonts, etc. We plan to enable similar customization of Dynamic View templates via the Template Designer in the very near future."

So, I'd lose all my design elements?!? Wow. As I said, I know the place could use a bit of sprucing up, but I don't want to have the same design as half the bloggers on the internet!

And then I ran across this post, reviewing a user's switchover, which confirms no sidebar, and that there is apparently no analytics support.

Yikes! I guess I'll be waiting a bit, and see where the dust settles before I go dynamic...
