I was wondering about that. Does size matter? What about a large jar with a lid?

It would be worth a try, if it's already around. No harm, no foul...

(I suspect for this to work, the sides of the container need to be hard, and there has to be enough space for the cloves to develop some velocity. And there needs to some easy way to keep the top on while shaking -- which leaves out my big stainless soup pot -- too awkward!)

I will try this with few cloves in a jar. Just let me remember to buy some garlic next time I shop! :-D

Let me know how it goes. In the meantime, I'm keeping an eye out for the bowls. I think they'd probably be good for bread baking anyway...

Heh. Finally got around to doing some cooking with fresh garlic. And the jar worked beautifully!
