For those non-southerners out there, this is what winter in the South often looks like. I took this picture on the way home from Rugby last weekend as a very fine, almost-invisible snow was falling. We don't get a lot of snow here, though it does get cold and colorless. There's rarely anything threatening about our winter weather -- usually the precipitation comes on warmer days in the form of rain, and the cold, dark days that we do get tend to be dry (like today). It's not typically very picturesque, but I liked this photo because even though it's dark and cold-looking, some pastel-ish colors do show though the winter haze.

Beautiful pic, hon.
Being a Texan myself, I'm pretty fascinated by snow. I remember one time I was having dinner with C in Rochester, and a heavy snow was falling outside - I could hardly take my eyes off it.
Thanks for the pics! :)
Over dinner is one of the best ways to enjoy snow! Now that I've lived in the South long enough for my blood to have thinned out, I believe that snow is best appreciated from behind a window. ;)
I can agree with you on that last bit... of course, in a few short years I'll be dealing with it daily for months on end.
Right now it's 60 deg here in Austin, sunny... and the birds have decided that it's spring! Lots and lots of birdsong - I was practically assaulted by a Carolina Wren this morning, he was singing so loud. (I'd never connected that call with the Wren, so that was a high point).
/me loves the clear blue skies... although my sweetie says that clear blue in NY means "bitter cold".
